BOSTON – January 22, 2020 – Great Hill Partners, a leading growth-oriented private equity firm, is pleased to announce five promotions. Mary Kate Bertke has been promoted to Principal, Head of Investor Relations, and Bob Anderson, Veda Eswarappa, John Stanley, and Greg Stewart have each been promoted to Vice President.

Great Hill’s personnel promotions follow one of the busiest years in the firm’s history. In 2019, Great Hill completed nine platform investments and executed seven successful liquidity events. In December, the HEC-DowJones Private Equity Performance Rankings ranked the firm #10 in aggregate performance from 2006-2016, capping off a year of awards including two professionals named to GrowthCap’s Top 40 Under 40 Growth Investors list and inclusion as one of Inc.’s Top 50 Best Private Equity Firms for Entrepreneurs. In 2019, Great Hill also closed on $2.5 billion in commitments in an oversubscribed fundraise for its seventh growth buyout fund.
Promotions Include:
Mary Kate Bertke, promoted to Principal, Head of Investor Relations
Mary Kate is responsible for the firm’s investor relations activities. Under Mary Kate’s tenure, the firm has raised three funds aggregating over $5 billion. Prior to joining Great Hill Partners in 2012, Mary Kate was a Vice President of Investor Relations at Providence Equity Partners, a Vice President at Bank of America Capital Advisors, and an investment banking analyst in the technology group at Bank of America. Mary Kate holds a degree in economics and Spanish from Amherst College.
Bob Anderson, promoted to Vice President
Bob joined Great Hill Partners in August 2015 as an Associate. He works with the firm’s financial technology and related software investments including AffiniPay, BlueSnap, MineralTree, and Vanco. He also worked with the now realized portfolio company Confirmation.com. Prior to joining Great Hill Partners, Bob worked at Macquarie Capital as an investment banking analyst in the industrials group. Bob earned a degree in public policy from Duke University.
Veda Eswarappa, promoted to Vice President
Veda joined Great Hill Partners as a senior associate in 2018. Veda works with the firm’s healthcare team and portfolio companies including Pareto Health and Quantum Health. Prior to joining Great Hill, Veda was a Case Team Leader at EY-Parthenon, a global strategy consulting firm. Veda earned a degree in biomedical sciences and engineering with honors from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
John Stanley, promoted to Vice President
John joined Great Hill Partners in April 2016 as an Associate. John works with current Internet and consumer investments CliqStudios and TodayTix, and previously worked with realized portfolio companies Momondo and The Shade Store. Prior to joining Great Hill Partners, John worked at Lazard as an investment banking associate and began his career at Cowen & Company. John earned a B.S. in management with concentrations in finance and accounting from Boston College.
Greg Stewart, promoted to Vice President
Greg joined Great Hill Partners in January 2017 as an Associate. Greg works with the firm’s business-to-business technology and software investments including EnterpriseDB, Ikon Science, Mission Cloud Services, Reward Gateway, and Varicent. Prior to joining Great Hill Partners, Greg was an Associate at Spire Capital Partners and worked at Wells Fargo Securities and Signal Hill Capital as an investment banking analyst. Greg graduated cum laude from Bucknell University with a degree in economics.
