Data centre operator Ascenty has announced the availability of the Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute service in its solutions portfolio. The platform allows users to interconnect to local networks with the Microsoft cloud through a dedicated private connection via the Ascenty network. The goal is to offer even more reliability, speed and decrease latency in the connections between services.
ExpressRoute provides private networks, with dynamic bandwidth capability, to extend the storage functions of the local data centre. The platform also provides access to high performance cloud storage with security and low latency. In a data migration operation, for example, the response time ranges from 40 to 50 milliseconds, while with ExpressRoute the same operation is performed in less than 10 milliseconds.
