My job is never boring. I get to spend my time exploring interesting markets and working with great teams to recruit strong talent, drive strategic partnerships, and partner on key sales opportunities.
Q&A
Where did you grow up?
I split time between New York City in the school year and then Minneapolis, MN in the summers. It was the balance of two perfect worlds – bright lights and big city for much of the year and then an escape to yards, lakes (fishing!), and camping with my family in the boundary waters in Northern Minnesota.
If you could spend a month in any city, where would you go?
As someone who grew up in walking New York City, I favor cities that you can easily travel by foot (or by bike for that matter) as it’s the best way to take in the character of a city. There are so many choices but would have to ultimately choose London for its history, accessibility to the rest of Western Europe, and great football!
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
You need to slow down in order to speed up. Take the time to get the mission and strategy right so you can move quickly on the tactics. It’s counterintuitive but all too often leaders and their teams are too focused on the in-period metrics that they can lose sight of the core issues that are creating friction and hindering opportunities for growth. In slowing down, aligning as a team and making the right decisions are the key to then efficiently, and more expediently, moving forward.
