What is your most memorable class in college?

History of Science. It was taught by a Nobel laureate in physics, which in itself was a treat. But more importantly, it shed light on the tight connection between math, science, and philosophy, and how the three create a flywheel that drives progress. We're seeing some of this today in the AI domain: advances in AI technology raising important questions about responsible use and causing us to think deeply about the nature of work.

What is your advice for someone just getting started with AI?

Pick a tool and use it daily, especially as a thought partner to learn new things. Every time you find yourself wondering about a topic, use AI to guide your exploration.

What sports team do you root for?

I'm an avid San Antonio Spurs fan. I was incredibly lucky to see the construction of a dynasty and experience a 20-year run of excellence. But winning was only half the story. The culture and organization deserve a ton of credit for the team's success. Creating a culture of trust, respect, and accountability can breed success, and those are lessons that apply broadly outside of sports.
