Q&A
What is your favorite book and why?
Who Says Elephants Can't Dance? by Lou Gerstner. It details his experience as CEO of IBM, where he led the company from near collapse to an amazing turnaround by shifting the business focus to software and services. Probably the most interesting fact - Lou had no experience in technology. He objectively assessed where the marketplace was headed and set a course where IBM could lead. Great lessons here.
Where is your favorite vacation spot and why?
Each summer we try to spend time on Cape Cod. With four kids and everyone spread out, it's great to get us all together and enjoy some family time. We especially like Nauset beach - amazing waves. Lunch at Red Nun, dinner at Navillus and ice cream at Ice Cream Cafe. What summer is all about.
What is your favorite sports team?
Originally from New York, my favorite teams are the Jets, Knicks, and Yankees. See the problem? It's been quite a while since there's been a reason to celebrate. What's worse - we moved to the Boston area about 20 years ago - right about the time when every Boston team got good. Not easy.
